The Lord is once again humbling us through a natural disaster: wild fires in California. May the Lord protect His people and comfort those who are suffering!
The fires are very near one of our ROCOR parishes, Saints Peter and Paul in Santa Rosa, CA. Four parishioners there have lost their homes to the fires, though the parish is safe and no one has been injured. Please pray for all those affected by the fires and if you are able, make a donation to this local Russian charity which is helping those in need: http://racssf.org/index.
I will be in Chicago by this evening for diocesan meetings on Friday and the Cathedral Feast Day (Pokrov) on Saturday. We will have a service Saturday night at 6 p.m. as usual, though it will be served without a priest, since I will not arrive back in Cincinnati until late Saturday night. Sunday morning Liturgy will begin at 10 a.m. as usual. To help those who would like to confess, I will begin hearing confession on Sunday at 9:15 a.m.
